THQ HIGH VOLTAGE POWER SUPPLY

The THQ high voltage power supply is available in 2 mechanical formats, a compact, robust Delrin format for laboratories and a standard 19’’ rack format for industry. The great feature of the THQ model is its concept of kit, mounted from small DC / DC converters bythe German manufacturer ISEG Spezialelektronik. 

The performance of the THQ is suitable for applications in electrospinning, electrostatic polarizations, power component tests, bus bars, and polarization of detectors in research laboratories, etc.

THQ HIGH VOLTAGE POWER SUPPLY – LABORATORY

The high-voltage THQ power supply for laboratory  is a ‘kit’ formula, assembled from small DC / DC converters by the German manufacturer ISEG Spezialelektronik. The THQ power supply is a very good compromise considering quality and pricing which offers good technical guarantees. 3 different models of DC-DC converters are used:

  • DPS ‘High Stability’, voltage from 500 V to 6 kV, current from 1.5 mA to 10 mA, power from 9 W to 12 W, reversible polarity and switchable by electronics.
  • CPS ‘Standard’, voltage from 500 V to 30 kV, current from 300 µA to 20 mA, power from 9 W to 12 W, fixed polarity, positive or negative.
  • EPS ‘Standard’, voltage from 500 V to 30 kV, current from 2 mA to 60 mA, power from 60 W, fixed polarity, positive or negative.

THQ high voltage power supply is offered with 1 or 2 channels which are fully configurable at the factory. The DC-DC converters are installed at the backplane. It is possible to mix the polarities, the voltage values ​​but also the converter types. According to the customer’s requirements and the installation setup. It is for example possible to juxtapose in the same set:

  • a positive CPS converter with a negative CPS converter, or
  • a 2 kV CPS converter with a 10 kV CPS converter or even
  • a 500 V DPS converter with a 6 kV DPS block

The THQ high-voltage power supply does not have a motherboard with advanced functions, however complete instrumentation makes it possible to record the voltage and current in ‘local’ and ‘remote’ mode.

There is one single USB interface and as many 0 – 5 V analog input – output ports as the number of channels.

Voltages and current are displayed, with voltage resolutions from 1 V to 10 V and current resolutions from 100 nA to 1 µA for current.

The voltage is adjusted by a 10-turn potentiometer while the current is adjusted by a 1-turn potentiometer. There is an on / off switch, a local / remote switch and a 2-line LCD display. The first line indicates the voltage and the type of interface (Local, Remote – analog 0 – 5 V or USB),the second line gives the current value and the status (KillEnable, trip and polarity).

The KillEnable function can only be configured via the digital USB interface. It activates the trip function, so if the current in the load has reached the current setpoint, the power supply cuts out with a delay time of 100 ms… 200 ms.

While in KillDisable mode, the power supply is intended to operate in voltage regulation mode and current regulation mode.

There are register positionflags in order to have visibility of the KillEnable / KillDisable, trip, inhibit, polarity, manual or automatic mode positions. Thus if the current in the load has reached the current setpoint, the power supply cuts out with a delay time of 100 ms… 200 ms.

THQ HIGH VOLTAGE POWER SUPPLY IN 19”RACK

The THQ high-voltage power supply in its 19” rack version is a variant of the THQ laboratory model with the following advantages:

  • It offers 1, 2 or 3 independent channels.
  • It offers greater power, especially with the version equipped with the 150 W EPS converter.

Like the laboratory version, the rack version is built as a kit with DC-DC converters:

  • DPS ‘high stability’, voltage from 500 V to 6 kV, current from 1.5 mA to 10 mA, power from 9 W to 12 W, reversible polarity and switchable by electronics.
  • CPS ‘Standard’, voltage from 500 V to 30 kV, current from 300 µA to 20 mA, power from 9 W to 12 W, fixed polarity, positive or negative.
  • EPS ‘Standard’, voltage from 500 V to 30 kV, current from 2 mA to 150 mA, power from 60 W to 150 W, fixed polarity, positive or negative.

The rack is available with the dimensions width 19 ‘x depth 305 mm x height 2U.
