HIGH VOLTAGE MULTICHANNEL SYSTEM
The high voltage multichannel system consists in a chassis which takes high voltage cassettes in 3U format. The voltage / current range is very wide. The standard model (CPS) offers voltages up to 30 kV, the very low noise and reversible polarity model (DPS) works up to 6 kV, and the high power model (EPS) with 60 W. The voltage ranges are from 500 V to 30 kV depending on the model, covering a large number of applications. The multichannel system offers 4 channels, 8 channels and 10 channels.
These high-voltage cassettes are integrated into an high voltage multichannel system ‘half rack’ format (max. 4 HV channels) and in ‘full rack’ format (8 channels or max. 10 HV channels), with a height of 3U. In this case; they are steered by a controller that has a USB and Ethernet port. A high-performancesoftware is available on request, please ask us.
CPS CASSETTE FOR HIGH VOLTAGE MULTICHANNEL SYSTEM
The high voltage cassette of the CPS series has the advantage of providing high voltages up to 30 kV. Its current range goes from 0.3 mA to 20 mA with powers from 9 to 12 W. It is a standard cassette which offers an attractive value for money considering its performance.
DPS CASSETTE FOR HIGH VOLTAGE MULTICHANNEL SYSTEM
The high-voltage cassette of the DPS series is the best-selling model in its range. It offers unique performances in voltage and current stability, and it shows an extremely low level of ripple & noise, with 3 mVp-p. Its particularity is based on the reverse polarity, positive or negative, by electronic switching. The voltages range from 500 V to 6 kV for a power of approximately 10 W.
EPS CASSETTE FOR HIGH VOLTAGE MULTICHANNEL SYSTEM
The high voltage cassette of the EPS series is similar in performance as the CPS series, but for powers from 50 to 60 W. Because of this power, it is available in the format of 2 slots, with a width of 61 mm.
MICC CONTROLLER AND HIGH VOLTAGE MULTICHANNEL CHASSIS
The high voltage 3U chassis is available in portable half rack formats carrying 4 cassettes (ECH 124) and in formats for 19” racks, with 8 cassettes (ECH 128) or 10 cassettes (ECH 12A).
Unlike the other high voltage chassis in the Iseg range, the 3U high voltage chassis does not have a digital bus. The information passing through the backplane is analog and a USB and Ethernet controller equipped with 20-bit DAC and 24-bit ADC converters allows communication with the outside world. The resolution is very high with for example 10 mV on a potential of 1000 V.
The DC-DC cassettes are now equipped with an identification chip (ID-chip) for automatic detection of the allocated slot. Any crossing of cassettes in slots which are not allocated to them results in an error. In this case, the controller must be configured using a dedicated software procedure (see article ‘MICC controller calibration’) so that it recognizes the location of each cassette. When this is done, the MICC controller identifies only the high voltage blocks during commissioning.
Thanks to its flexibility, the high voltage 3U chassis is suitable for ion beam applications, in particular with ion extraction, supply of lenses by switching polarities, supply of deflectors, supply of Wien filters.
The universal MICC controller is designed to steer the high voltage chassis from the ECH series. These host DC-DC cassettes of various performances and powers.
The integration into a ‘slow control’ process takes place via the CANbus interface with the option of a daisy-chain for multiple MICC controllers, or through USB and Ethernet ports.
Several software options can be implemented including a isegTerminal to take control of the commands step by step during the development phase or for the calibration of the modules, isegCANHVControl for the CANbus interface, isegSCPIControl for the USB and Ethernet interfaces or isegOPCControl for the implementation into a large system.
HIGH VOLTAGE MULTICHANNEL SYSTEM REF ECH 124 FOR 4 CHANNEL CASSETTE
The high voltage multichannel system 3U ref ECH 124 is the most compact model in the range. It offers 4 slots for 4 channels max. arranged vertically in a mechanical mini format of 235 mm * 3U. It is equipped with a 150 W switching power supply of Deutronic which delivers all the power to the CPS, DPR and EPS cassettes.
HIGH VOLTAGE MULTICHANNEL SYSTEM REF ECH 128 FOR 8 CHANNEL CASSETTE
The high voltage multichannel system 3U ref ECH 128 has 8 free slots for a number of 8 channels max. into a vertical 19″ rack format. It is fitted with a switching power supply of Deutronic with 150 W which supplies power to either 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 channels of HV cassettes. The chassis 128 is not mounted with an integrated fan tray, therefore natural convection of high quality needs to be provided.
HIGH VOLTAGE MULTICHANNEL SYSTEM REF ECH 12A FOR 10 CHANNEL CASSETTE
The high voltage multichannel system 3U ref ECH 12A is set out to accommodate 10 slots and 10 channels. More powerful than the 124 and 128 models, it is mounted with a 300 W power supply of Deutronic. In addition to its similar device making it can control the CPS, DPR and EPS cassettes.It has the advantage of accommodating the latest addition of the EBS modules, operating in 4-quadrant mode with 4 independent channels for the polarization of deflectors in an ion beam application.
